My name is Rachael and here’s a little bit that I want to share with you all:
I haven’t always loved food. Growing up, my parents cooked the staple recipes: Grilled chicken, spaghetti, roast beef, meatloaf, etc. I never really thought much of mealtime, except that I couldn’t wait for it to be over. It was after mealtime that the excitement came. Dessert has always been my weakness (and always will be!) but what I particularly began to love was incorporating sweet flavors with savory ones–something only really my grandmother did occasionally.
After my grandmother passed away, and when the salty food returned, I was determined to find some unique and tasty options for lunches and dinner. This is when my passion for cooking (and baking!) began. Since then, I have been searching for various flavor combinations that I like to create in my own recipes.

I am a Pittsburgh native who loves to travel and I have currently just graduated with my Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology, and while working part-time, I am constantly thinking about food and what recipe to try next, all while ensuring multi-dimensional flavor and trying to eat smart. (Well, most of the time, anyways.) I hope that you will find this blog helpful and inspiring and I can continue to share my passion for food!
